Pav has not even mentioned moving, says fiancee

0

The chances of Matthew Pavlich seeing out the rest of his AFL career in Fremantle are strengthening by the day, after fiancee Lauren O’Shannassy admitted the couple had never even discussed a move away from WA.

With Pavlich’s Dockers contract up at the end of the season, shouts from Adelaide and whispers from the Gold Coast have made some Freo fans nervous about Pavlich’s intentions.

But in another massive pointer to Pavlich ignoring the overtures of Adelaide, O’Shannassy told WAtoday the subject of a possible move had never been talked about between the pair.

“We have never even discussed a move to Adelaide,” O’Shannassy said.

Harvey reveals contract talks with Dockers

0

Fremantle coach Mark Harvey has confirmed serious discussions about his future at the club have begun – with the mid-season break being targeted as the possible window for him to re-sign.

With the Dockers sitting pretty at the summit of the AFL ladder alongside Geelong, they have the chance to be number one on their own this weekend if arch-rivals West Coast do them a favour and upset the Cats in Perth.

Harvey will be hoping to extinguish the memories of the 117-point humiliation at the hands Adelaide at AAMI Stadium last year, when they managed one goal for the whole game.

And the Dockers hierarchy seemed to have set themselves another immediate goal of securing Harvey’s services, with the coach admitting for the first time today he had been made an offer.

Mundy puts contract talks on hold

0

Fremantle midfielder David Mundy will wait until the end of the year before opening contract negotiations with the port club.

The 24-year-old has been a standout performer for the Dockers this year and delivered another stellar display in the engine room during their comfortable win over North Melbourne yesterday.

The near best-on-ground performance will raise his profile even further, with the new Gold Coast franchise hovering as a potential rival to Fremantle for Mundy’s signature.

But Mundy said he had not been approached by the AFL’s 17th club, which enters the competition next season, and was unaware of any contact made between them and his management.

When asked if he would like to stay at Fremantle beyond this season, Mundy said: “Yeah, I’m not too sure. I’ll put that off and have a think about it at the end of the year and see where we go from there.

“We’re playing great football this year and hopefully we can get a few more wins on the board throughout the rest of the year.”

Contract can wait: Pavlich

0

CAPTAIN Matthew Pavlich says talk of a new contract with Fremantle can wait, preferring to concentrate on sustaining his and the team’s good form.

Pavlich, 28, said he was yet to enter negotiations with Fremantle for a new contract beyond this season, and he was not sure when discussions would commence.

However, he said he felt no pressure to commit before season’s end, and would not comment on what impact his signature would have on Fremantle’s season, with the club sitting outright second on the AFL ladder.

“I don’t think it’s my position to understand or comment on a ‘boost’ to the club,” Pavlich said from Fremantle Oval on Monday.

“[I’m] really happy with where it’s placed.

“We haven’t really changed at all from our perspective. We’re happy with how its progressing, and so is the club, we’ll get to a point some time later in the year.
