Aaron Sandilands is the big inclusion to Fremantle’s squad for Sunday’s match against Port Adelaide at Patersons Stadium. The three-time All Australian was one of three additions to the team that defeated Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium last Saturday.

He has missed the past two games with a calf injury, but will return to lead Freo’s ruck this Mother’s Day Sunday.

The other players to be included in the 25-man squad were midfielder Jay van Berlo and defender Alex Silvagni, who have both been playing consistently in the WAFL this season.

Three players will be omitted when the final 22 is submitted at 2.30pm on Friday.

If Sandilands and Jonathon Griffin make the final cut, it will be the first time the ruck duo will have appeared in the same team together.

Sandilands said he would be “right to go” for the match against the Power and wasn’t concerned if Griffin’s presence meant less time in the ruck for himself.

“As long as I’m out on the ground, it doesn’t bother me too much at all where they put me, as long as it’s not at full-back,” he said.

“For it to work, ‘Griff’ and I are both going to have to spend some time up forward and have an impact up there.

“Hopefully, when we get that chance, we can prove that we can work well together.”

Sandilands said the team was aiming for a four-quarter effort on Sunday.

“There have been times in quarters where we haven’t quite got that accomplished so far this year,” he said.

“That’d be one of our main focuses going into this weekend, making sure that we play quality football for four quarters.”
