Fremantle has completed it’s first competititve hitout of season 2012 following tonight’s intra-club match at Patersons Stadium.

Aaron Sandilands was a standout performer, playing the entire game in the ruck and dominating the closing stages of the match.

Hayden Ballantyne saw a lot of the footy in a midfield role, while Kepler Bradley and Jack Anthony did well in key forward posts.

Nat Fyfe and Tendai Mzungu looked impressive, as did new recruit Lachie Neal who had a solid first hit-out.

Senior coach Ross Lyon said he was happy with the outcome of the intra-club match.

“It was good to get a first hit out,” he said.

“I thought they certainly implemented some of the things we’ve been working on.

“At the end of the day we come here to get fitter and more knowledgable about what we’re doing well and what we’re not.

“There were some signs that we liked, but plenty of work to go.”

Fremantle’s next outing will be the first round of the NAB Cup at Patersons Stadium next Sunday, 19 February against West Coast and Essendon.
