Matthew Pavlich, Aaron Sandilands, Luke McPharlin , Stephen Hill and Hayden Ballantyne will be among a host of star Freo Dockers likely to have their first major hit out for 2012 in an intra-club game at 6.00pm on Friday 10 February at Patersons Stadium.

Senior coach Ross Lyon said the intra-club match would be an entree leading into the first round of the NAB Cup.

“It will be 60 minutes of work where the players get to feel contact and a high level of intensity,” Lyon said.

“And the fans will get to have their first look at the Freo Dockers in 2012.”

The club is seeking to provide early notice of the game to members and the general public, however the time and location of the match will not be confirmed until early next week. This is to take into account the weather forecast for Perth for the latter part of next week, which includes temperatures in the high 30s.

Lyon said the club was taking every conceivable precaution with the weather in mind.

“We’ll make sure the players are well hydrated coming into the game,” he said.

“There will be lots of water and rotations during the game and we’ll monitor them on the run to make sure there’s no risk to the players.”

Admission to the game is free. Entry will be available only via gate 8, which is scheduled to open at 5.00pm.

The Fremantle Team Store (near gate 13) will remain open until the end of the practice match. Staff from the club’s Membership Services Team will be at the team store to handle enquires about new memberships and membership renewals.

Should the game proceed at Patersons Stadium, food and refreshments will be available for purchase outside gate 8.

Please note that this is an alcohol-free event and as such alcohol cannot be purchased or brought into the ground under any circumstances.
