Docker Barlow set to resume
Fremantle have finally delivered some good news about injuries with midfielder Michael Barlow expected to resume senior football as early as next week.
Barlow badly broke his leg midway through his impressive debut season last year. There were concerns at how long it would take Barlow to recover.
But Dockers coach Mark Harvey has revealed Barlow is likely to play for his WAFL club Peel in the Foundation Day round on June 4.
However, it is still not know whether Barlow will play in the Thunder’s reserves or league line-up.
Yet a return to WAFL ranks would suggest the Dockers believe Barlow is close to being ready for an AFL return.
Harvey also indicated defender Roger Hayden was close to resuming senior action.
“Barlow I am thinking not this week but next week at WAFL level, Roger a week after that or two,” Harvey told radio 6PR.
“They are both starting to walk around and strut and talk a little bit more so that means they are not too far away from playing.”
The revelations about Barlow and Hayden are positives after a run of setbacks with injuries, including a toe complaint that will sideline ruckman Aaron Sandilands for a month.
