The Cincinnati Dockers Australian Rules Football Club finished their 14th season by going 4-2 in the USAFL National Championship Tournament. Both the main squad (competing in division 3), and the reserve squad (competing in division 4) finished 2-1, earning them second place in their respective groups.

Cincinnati’s A squad started their tournament with a hard-fought Saturday morning victory, defeating the Portland Power 54-44. Their second match took place later that afternoon, where they defeated the Atlanta Kookaburras 51-27. Their third match in the group stage would be played the following Sunday morning against the top seeded Austin Crows, with a spot in the Division 3 Grand Final in the balance. Despite a valiant effort and intense play, the Dockers would just come up short, falling to the eventual Division 3 champions 36-14.

The Reserves played in one of the first games of the tournament on Saturday morning against the Chicago/Baltimore/Washington team. A strong second half earned the Dockers a 23-10 victory. A long rest later, the Dockers took the field again, challenging Orange County/Des Moines.

The match went back and forth, and required a game winning goal with only seconds left to give Cincinnati a 35-33 win. Once again, the Grand Final spot was up for grabs on Sunday, with only the Denver/Kansas City team standing in their way. This game was also close from start to finish. This time, the Dockers came up short, dropping the match 37-24.

The Cincinnati Dockers would like to congratulate all players and coaches, and thank all supporters for a great 2010 season!
