The WA Football Commission announced on Friday an important partnership for not only the Fremantle Football Club but for all levels of football in WA, an extension of the decade-long partnership with Carlton United Breweries for a further 10 years.

Fremantle chief executive Steve Rosich said the deal would financially help his club underpin not only its operations as a football club, but also its contributions back to WA football, which exceeded $4 million each year.

“This 10-year transaction that’s ongoing allows us to underpin those commitments to West Australian football as a whole,” he said.

“We’re really proud that we bring our brand together, along with West Coast, with the other WAFL clubs and the other community clubs to put together a deal that is good for all parties in West Australian football.”

Rosich said the new deal would also continue to assist the Fremantle’s efforts to push the responsible service of alcohol message.

“Those efforts are ongoing and they continue irrespective of partnerships like this with CUB,” he said.

“They extend not only to our playing group, but to our staff group and to our operations at Subiaco Oval, which we are very proud of.”

WAFC chief executive Wayne Bradshaw said the past 10 years of CUB’s sponsorship had been very important for the WA Football landscape from a Fremantle perspective.

“From the Fremantle Football Club having been involved in those early years, it was absolutely critical in getting football back on an even plane,” he said.

Bradshaw said the WAFC was indebted to CUB for the support they had provided for the past decade.

“It has been absolutely fundamental in stabilising the health of WA football.”

State manager CUB Dean Turner said his company was looking forward to partnering the Fremantle Football Club for another decade.

“In the next 10 years, hopefully we all have great success together,” he said.
“To have a 20-year association with the Fremantle Football Club is just fantastic.”

The 10-year CUB and WAFC deal includes:

1. Exclusive pourage rights at Subiaco Oval
2. Sponsorships of the Fremantle Football Club and West Coast Eagles
3. Naming rights for the Carlton Mid Derby
4. Pourage and sponsorship rights at WAFL clubs
5. Pourage and sponsorship rights throughout WA’s Amateur and Country Football Leagues
