Fremantle Dockers coach Mark Harvey says he is against the idea of a cap on player rotations during a game.

He says fortnightly travel on clubs outside Melbourne takes a heavy toll and high rotations are needed to reduce the impact on players.

Harvey says it is an issue the AFL needs to consider.

“I’m trying to work out where the exemptions are for interstate clubs because if you go back and have a look at the last three years you’ve seen the demise of interstate clubs finishing in the top four,” he said.

“You need to work out and talk about why. It would be great if every team travelled 10 times a year and if not, if they don’t, what’s the exemptions for the clubs that do?”
