Dockers take Schammer, Bradley to Brisbane
Overlooked Dockers Byron Schammer and Kepler Bradley face a potential return from their WAFL exiles with the pair flying to Queensland ahead of Saturday night’s clash with Brisbane at the Gabba.
Both players have been kept out of the side on the back of Fremantle’s flying start to the season, with the WA club having won five of their opening six matches to be sitting fourth on the ladder.
But the pair were named on Fremantle’s emergency list when teams were announced this aftneroon.
Schammer, 24, has been in solid form with WAFL side Claremont in recent weeks and is coming off a 27-disposal return against Swan Districts.
Forward Michael Johnson has been favoured as a ruck back-up for Aaron Sandilands ahead of Bradley, 24, so far this season.
The pair flew out of Perth with the main playing group this afternoon, but young defender Alex Silvagni was an absentee.
While Silvagni has been named on the Dockers interchange bench there is an indication he could miss the round seven match with an ankle injury.
Fremantle coach Mark Harvey earlier warned the club would not take too many doubtful starters on the long road trip.
